Technological issues have slowed us down a little over the last few weeks. Our camera has seen better days-between small blond girls and being slammed in the car door, some of our pictures of our recent trip to South Dakota didn't turn out very well. To make matters worse, our computer seems to have fried, so we're going to be out of the game for awhile (thank goodness it's still under warranty).
Nonetheless, we did make it back from our Black Hills journey in one piece and had a fun time at Jennifer's family reunion. A good portion of this trip was spent doing the standard tourist "stuff", including a trip to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. This particular region of South Dakota is an interesting cultural experience. It's a place of legends, with an incredible amount of history. This, paired with the over-the-top tourist attractions creates quite an enigma.
Meredith and Delaney had a lot of fun meeting & visiting their relatives and travelling in Grandpa's camper. They really enjoyed the town of Bedrock and the mammoth site. They also got to see buffalo up close for the first time in Custer State Park; Delaney liked growling at them after hearing them vocalizing. Of course one of Meredith's favorite parts of Custer State Park were the semi-wild burros that enjoy accosting tourists for handouts. Some of our favorite moments were roasting marshmallows around the campfire with the "uncles".
Stay tuned for more pictures.... we found ourselves enjoying each others company the day of the reunion and left the picture taking to those that had really great cameras. So, as the pictures come in we will post them as well!
