Welcome to the Delaney Rose blog...

Delaney was born January 27, 2010 at 3:09 pm on a snowy Gunnison day. She was 14 weeks premature and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces. We survived 80 days in Grand Junction at St. Mary's NICU, and finally made it home the third week in April. We created this blog while living in GJ so that our friends and family could stay up to date on Delaney's progress. We plan to maintain the site and post when we can, so please enjoy!

Happy 12 Year Anniversary!

These pictures speak for themselves... and might speak to how busy our lives are. It started with the Cattlemen's Day Parade, followed by a camp trip to Taylor park (where Brandon packed in equipment for the fish biologists, while the girls played in the creek), and then we celebrated our Anniversary climbing a 12,000 foot peak in the West Elk Wilderness. Whew! Now that's Gunnison living (how lucky are we?).

Traveling Tomato Thief

We're not quite sure how many cherry tomatoes Delaney "stole" but she didn't mind helping herself as she traveled home from the store in her bike cart. Her antics seem to always put smiles on our faces!
Happy Birthday Uncle Rick! We miss and love you very much and hope that your day was special.

1st Pool Visits

Jennifer and the girls finally made it to our rec center and took advantage of some pool time! Delaney was hesitant at first but has warmed up to the zero entry and warm temperature. We'll see if she turns into a water dog like her sister!

This weekend we'll find ourselves at another parade, a wedding, the rodeo, and a much needed camping trip. We'll post pics when we get home!

Fouth of July Weekend

The first part of July has been really busy and really fun for the Diamond family. When we got back from South Dakota we headed to Crested Butte for Stepping Stones' annual Fun Fest. It was a beautiful day and the girls had a good time playing in the water and on the 'bump and jumps'. The next day we got up early and went to see the hot air balloon display in the park. It appears that Jennifer finally found a hot air balloon buddy who is just as enthusiastic as she is (Delaney).

A few days later the Division of Wildlife put together a convoy for the 4th of July parade in Crested Butte, which turned out to be quite an adventure. Crested Butte takes their parades seriously and it was very entertaining watching the spectacle. Brandon went out before the parade and arrested a poacher (thanks Danny), who was subsequently drug through town behind the pack-horse. It was a good time. That afternoon the little blonds enjoyed some time in their swimming pool, and the day was capped off with Gunnison's firework show. Delaney really seemed to like the big BOOMS...
