Welcome to the Delaney Rose blog...

Delaney was born January 27, 2010 at 3:09 pm on a snowy Gunnison day. She was 14 weeks premature and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces. We survived 80 days in Grand Junction at St. Mary's NICU, and finally made it home the third week in April. We created this blog while living in GJ so that our friends and family could stay up to date on Delaney's progress. We plan to maintain the site and post when we can, so please enjoy!

Winter seems to be going quick around here. When it's so cold you have to figure out ways to stay entertained and active; particularly when you have little blond girls that get cold quickly. One way to pass the time is to have an indoor bike day at your local fair ground. It's nice for Meredith and her friends to be able to put on some bike miles and actually stay warm. It's inevitable though that you need to be outside- just dress warm. Delaney loves to go outside as long as she's bundled up. Today we took a family trip down south to look for an injured cow moose without any luck. It was a good excuse to play a little in the snow on a sunny Colorado day.
Guess who has a birthday coming up in a few days?

  4. Happy Birthday Delaney! I remember when you were born. I was your first nurse that night in the NICU when you arrived at St. Mary's! You are getting so big. What a miracle. It is so nice to receive updates about Delaney (and Meredith!) by mail in the NICU. To Brandon and Jennifer - glad everything is going well for you. Good luck to you this next year. What an incredible journey....
