The first of two Gymkhanas this summer and boy was it hot and dusty. The horrendous drought is making everything miserable and after today we all have a good case of brown lung from all the dust. Meredith started off riding Molly the mule this go-round, but switched midway through to Grandma Sky horse. We're still working through the events on a lead-line but Merry is on the verge of reining through on her own. Gymkhanas are a lot of fun; we just wish there were more of them throughout the summer so that we could get more practice in. There are usually a variety of events, from barrel racing to the egg race (have to race your horse to the finish line without dropping your egg). Merry did a great job- it's amazing how far she's come recently with her confidence around equines.

Welcome to the Delaney Rose blog...
Delaney was born January 27, 2010 at 3:09 pm on a snowy Gunnison day. She was 14 weeks premature and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces. We survived 80 days in Grand Junction at St. Mary's NICU, and finally made it home the third week in April. We created this blog while living in GJ so that our friends and family could stay up to date on Delaney's progress. We plan to maintain the site and post when we can, so please enjoy!
