Went on a nice camping trip over labor day weekend and had a chance to explore some of our favorite country. Between work and everything else, we really needed to get away. Tried to fool some brook trout with grasshopper patterns, and Meredith had fun trying to get a fish hooked- it's not as easy as it looks! Spent a lot of time hanging out around the campfire, and got some practice in with Meredith's bow. We think the picture above is pretty neat-look closely and you'll see the arrow zipping away (not to mention Meredith's nice form). Delaney is a wild child, and loves to explore the world (who by the way does not care for graham crackers and marshmallows but would prefer just the chocolate portion of a s'more). By the end of the weekend she looked a lot like Pig-Pen, which is okay as long as she's having fun. We also learned that Mom is a pretty good baby snake catcher.
Fall is definitely here based on the changing aspen leaves and Annie dog's frozen water bowl this morning. The only thing left is to get out and hunt elk, which can't come too soon.
