Welcome to the Delaney Rose blog...

Delaney was born January 27, 2010 at 3:09 pm on a snowy Gunnison day. She was 14 weeks premature and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces. We survived 80 days in Grand Junction at St. Mary's NICU, and finally made it home the third week in April. We created this blog while living in GJ so that our friends and family could stay up to date on Delaney's progress. We plan to maintain the site and post when we can, so please enjoy!

Sunday

Today was the day--this morning one of our doctors ordered Delaney onto the low flow oxygen system. Her breathing issues these days seem to revolve around straining and squirming and holding her breath rather than central apnea. We hope Delaney can make low flow work so we can move on to greener pastures. It was beautiful day in Grand Junction.

Our thoughts go to Jennifer's brother Rick and sister-in-law Dusti who experienced a catastrophic fire last night in their garage/bonus room. We hope they are able to make it through this tough time and know that with Rick's carpentry skills they will be able to quickly rebuild from the ashes.

  1. That is one cute little girl, saturday's picture looked like she was laughing. Hopefully all will progress well on the lower oxygen and you all will be heading home soon. Have a good week

  2. Wonderful news!!! Goodbye (and good riddance), central apnea!

Sounds like you're growing right on schedule, Delaney. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be home before you know it!
