Welcome to the Delaney Rose blog...

Delaney was born January 27, 2010 at 3:09 pm on a snowy Gunnison day. She was 14 weeks premature and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces. We survived 80 days in Grand Junction at St. Mary's NICU, and finally made it home the third week in April. We created this blog while living in GJ so that our friends and family could stay up to date on Delaney's progress. We plan to maintain the site and post when we can, so please enjoy!

Tuesday

Delaney had a good day today, and she seems to be getting back on the right track. She's gained a significant amount of weight over the last week and her doctors are cutting back some of her supplements because she doesn't seem to need them anymore. Tomorrow she has her first of many eye exams scheduled which has us a little nervous. Send us your good thoughts.

Today we had more bad news. This posting is dedicated to the memory of our friend and family member Kym (the horse) who died very unexpectedly sometime during the last several days. She was young and healthy, and it's not fair that she was taken from us when we weren't even there to say goodbye. Our hearts are broken. She will be missed.

  1. We are glad to hear the good news about Delaney, but saddened about Kym. Our thoughts are with you.

  2. Jennifer and Brandon, I am so sorry about Kym. As I was praying for you all this morning and reading, a Bible verse came across. Then Jesus said, "Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28. I know you all are tired, and I am praying for strength for you. Delaney looks great. I will pray specifically over her eyes today. Love you lots!
